The past Year 2011-2012

Well now look what I've done.
Just posted a link to here on a forum.
Which means I better update this.

Feb.- March 2011 Headed up to Cairns following an
inland route until Townsville.  Past all the areas devastated by the floods.

You do see some wide loads here and there

Somewhere near Rockhampton for a few days

Stopped at Ellis Beach just north of Cairns for a week

Really nice spot

These pics are from at the back of the bus.

May 2011 saw me join the boat again and heading north.
Day 1   parked here for the night, little thinking we
would do that 2 more times, as when we got to Cooktown the Generator was dead. Decided to go back to Cairns for repairs. Turned into a replacement job (under warranty).

2-3 weeks later off again. Day hopping all the way.

Just another Island in the Great Barrier Reef

Dawn at Escape river on Cape York

Over the Top and on to here for a few day's and stock up on supplies and fuel

Then on to Gove (Nulhumby) . Spent 2 weeks here.

Left Gove heading for Darwin.

Coming out through "The Hole in The Wall".

And yes! there is a fish in the wake.

This was it.

Lots of beaut. anchorages all across the top.

We stopped at  Galawinku and Maningrita out on the Islands.

Interesting places..

This is Seven Spirit Bay  in Port Essington.

And on to Darwin. Great Town well worth a visit.

Visited Kakadu NP.  Will definitely be back again with more time to spend.

This is at Litchfield NP

Left Darwin, Flew back to Cairns, picked up the bus and did a quick trip back down to Gosford.

Parked the bus and then off to NZ,  New Plymouth for 8 weeks helping out
a friend with Satellite Transmission of the Rugby World Cup.

The Te Rewa Rewa Bridge on the walkway in Teranaki.

Back in Gosford:
November: Headed down the Hume Hway to Beechworth and on to Melbourne.
Back home for Christmas.

Then, Mid January flew to Perth and on down to Mandurah to join the boat again. They had sailed down through the Kimberly  and I believe I missed the Best part. Ah well!!

Photo from sailworld.com. We were busy.

After a couple of weeks doing some boat jobs we sailed down to Busselton via Bunbury for the Geographe Bay race week.  Great fun.

Then a long haul down to Albany for a couple of weeks, I went back to Busselton and brought down the car, Linda left us at Albany to go back to Perth and then drive across to SA,

We were joined there by 2 friends from Melbourne and off we went.

In to Esperance for stock-up.

6 and a half days and we arrived at Port Lincoln in SA having had reasonable weather all the way and only one little episode, on the last night, with an unruly boom when we tore out the end stop on the traveller. Why does this stuff happen at 2 in the morning?

3 weeks in Port Lincoln then the boat left for Kangaroo Island and I left in the car for Melbourne.

A quick catch-up with family and then I flew back home.

Two weeks later I'm on my way to Dublin.

Caught up with the Family.

Went down to Cobh in Cork. Did the Titanic tourist
thing.

Went up to Belfast. Did the Titanic tourist thing.

Spent 3 days in Kerry with Sister & Brother In Law

Near here,  Portmagee.

The Skelligs from Valentia island. Site of the first
undersea telegraph/telephone cable end.

Visited the Irish National Stud in Kildare

where this wonderful piece of sculpture is.

Left Ireland after 5 weeks. (bet they were glad to see me go).

Flew to Amsterdam, where there are Bicycles.
This 3 storied bike park holds 8,000 Bikes and is not big enough to cope, they have 30,000 bikes parking in the vicinity (Central Station) daily.

Of course you cannot be in Holland without going and seeing some Windmills.

Well that takes me to were I am now.. At Home!   However the weather is kinda cool at the moment so I will be heading north towards the warmth fairly shortly. Just have to do some servicing/maintenance on the bus and I'm off.
