All at sea

About time I updated this blog.
I'm still on my friends boat . Presently at Malollabah on the Sunshine Coast having visited Camden Haven, Coffs harbour, Yamba and Southport on the way.

The next stop will be north of Fraser Island where I will leave and head back home.

So far we've had good weather almost all the time although today its blowing very hard and we will have rain soon. All good as we are safely in a marina (near Jessica Watsons Ella's Lady)

Change of plans

OK. Visitors having trouble getting to Aus. so have cancelled trip for now. Meanwhile I have had an invitation to go sailing from Port Stevens up to Qld. so I'm now on my way south again to park the bus at home and grab my duffel bag and swap the acubra for a sailing cap.

Stopped in Byron Bay for one night and am now in Yamba. Moving on in the morning.

Waiting in Brisbane

Having left Kendall to be in Brisbane to meet up with my Brothers coming in from overseas. I find that due to the Icelandic volcano they cannot leave Europe until Wed/Thursday if at all. So here I am in Brisbane waiting to see what happens. So much for sunny Qld. Weather forecast is for showers today, so far this 'shower' has been showering for 7 hours without pause. Ah well! can't really complain we've only had one shower today.
Here are some more photos from Kendall.

Back on the road

I'm now in Kendall with a group of CMCA forumites.
Beautiful spot and great campground at the Showgrounds.

(Photos by George)  I've got to resize a few of mine .

Will be here 'til Saturday then on to Brisbane.

March 11th. Nyngan

Am now at Nyngan.

Left Silverton after the rain and headed for White Cliffs. Not to be, as both roads in were closed, I'm told they were closed even before the recent rain, so decided to go to Ivanhoe. No go, again the road was closed so went on to a rest area approx 60k from Cobar. Next day on to Cobar, stocked up on supplies, then on to Nyngan.

Treated myself to a stay at Riverside CP, one of the nicest parks I've seen. so I'm still here.

Love the function room which faces onto the river

At Silverton in the rain.

OK time to catch up.

Been through Mt Gambier then spent a 4 days in the Barossa valley area. Caught up with some fellow CMCA Forum members at Eden Valley, nice people.

Left Barossa and spent 2 nights in Renmark then traveled on to Broken Hill stopping at Popitah Lake (no water then). Caught up with some friends, new and old, who were on the way to Albany for the Ulysses AGM.

Am now in Silverton and looks like I'll be here for a couple of days at least. Since I arrived we have had copious amounts of rain and the creek (usually dry) you have to cross in and out of town is flowing a banker , about a meter at the moment, and the run-off around the bus at present is about 50mm so I'm almost marooned on a little island right now. Will have to wait 'til the rain stops. Next day: Now that the rain has stopped the creek is starting to drop.

Travelling Again

Well I'm finally back on the road. Once more heading towards Melbourne to catch up with Daughter and Grandchild.

Left the Central Coast on Friday with good weather, well it was good when I started but just before Wollongong the Heavens opened and it just kept coming down. By Kiama i'd had enough so stopped there for the night. It rained all night and I only got some clear weather just before Narooma.

Stopped there for two nights then on to Mallacouta Inlet, Nice place but too crowded.

Stopped for lunch at Quarantine Bay

Presently at Lakes Entrance. Will try and get some photos tomorrow.
